To be completely honest with you if it was not for our Freelancer Server's TS 2 Server. I would have missed out on a lot of fun. I also got to meet all the people including the top Freelancer player in the world. I have never ever had a bad time using TS2. I have been harassed for my Anti-Lord clan sentiments, however the Lord clan is now a major ally and supporter of my clan DEI, BECAUSE WE WERE ABLE TO TALK IT OUT. once i found out that they were not taxing in the star system of New Berlin and they were also killing noob killers and other low life pirates, we got a long just fine. We also agree that pirates are okay as long as they are only after the higher ranked people.

You need to reread my post if that's what you got from it.
I stated that SOME people would be disillusioned by the prospect that the person they thought was a girl, turned out to be a guy.
I have many friends that prefer to play female toons.
Not my bag, but no biggie.

I personally don't take part in Cybering in any way shape or form.

LOL...lemme guess, cogamers.com. I hate the lords.

Back on topic, I like the freedom of running my own TS server. With Guild Wars not being a bandwidth hog, it doesn't really matter that much and I get to do what I want with it. It's limited to a low number of players so I don't blast the bandwidth completely. Also, I'm sure you could find a server where they would let you be a CA...of course, you would probably have to pay for that.

Okay, honestly I have a life and a very cute girlfriend. i also do not do this whole online dating thing as it is extremely difficult to fornicate onlne without masturbation. However if that is your gig then have at it. i have no problem with people who are not in character as what thier real gender or race is. IT IS A ROLEPLAYING GAME NOT REAL LIFE, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TAKING ON A ROLE. I could care less if the bunch of pixels that i have been running around with turns out to be a guy BECAUSE IT IS A BUNCH OF PIXELS, NOT A REAL GIRL.

Get over it and get out more you need it. Find a girlfriend in the real world and then you will see how idiotic this really was from the get go. I was being nice the first time. But you did not get it, so....................

Heres the deal - avoiding teamspeak in order to keep from having to find out if your teammates are 12 years old or guys playing girls, then your just perpetuating a delusional fantasy world, as if you were living in some sort of world where there were wizards and magical swords and fish that stand on two legs and stuff. so just keep on avoiding that ventrillo man, because your payin good money to live in that fantasy world.

In the gane whoever you are running around as should not necessarily be who and what you are, it is a role playing game and part of that is trying on even different gender roles. In teamspeak just because this guy who has a hot pair of pixels that he is grandstanding with. I do not really care. i love TS and I do not care what people sound like or how old they are. As long as they play a good game don't cheat I do not care whether they are a guy or a girl in the chat server, mainlt because I do not really get attracted to a bunch of pixels he he that is a common marketing tactic.... So I guess that people who put that sort of stigma on it would not like to hear a butch elementalist, so they can check out an imaginary character without having the ease of talking rather than typing...

Not necessarily? It isn't who you are, no matter how you slice it. To think otherwise is to confuse reality and fiction.

In this game, I play (among others) a character named Randolph Carter. I am not Randolph Carter, and Randolph Carter is not me. There are many differences, most importantly, I am a real person, whereas Randolph Carter is a fictional character. Miranda Libertus is another fictional character. She is not the same person as me, nor is she the same as Randolph Carter. She's quite different from both of us. Among other things, she's a woman, whereas Randolph and I are men.

When you make statements along the lines of "that female elementalist you're playing with is actually a guy", you're confusing fantasy and reality. The female elementalist isn't really male, because in that sense of the word "really", she isn't really anything. It's not even a sensible question. It's like asking, "Where did Sherlock Holmes really live." In the fictional works of Doyle, he lived at 221B Baker Street. He didn't really live at whatever residence Doyle lived at. To talk about fictional characters as if they really have some characteristic of their creators is to speak with extreme confusion. Don't confuse fantasy and reality. You gotta keep 'em separated.

*Shrugs* I play female characters only to keep myself interested in the game for a longer period of time. There just something about watching a guys backside on my screen for a number of hours that turns me off of the game...

Cool Krass, Krass, Krass

Brother, you've got some issues to work out.
IF you took the time to re-read my post you'd realize my entire post is in jest.
I've said that once before.

I am simply making the point that some people pursue the "relations" part of the game more than needed.
A prime example would be when a girl posted on this site and immediately got asked to post a pic.
Or another that was asked if she was single.

Krass, you may not fit in that target group, but you need to blow off some steam.

Have fun.

Our guild uses a private Teamspeak server, and our guild only allows mature players... Never had any of the problems you describe!

Besides, I like to hear my girlfriend's sexy french accent while we play! :P

Default Well well well

So why do they get into a relationship and why should it matter that much is the question i have. i took your post in jest and I am not blowing off steam nor do I need to. i am not incensed over this is it just makes no sense to me one way or the other lol.Exactly as dreamsmith says it isn't you no matter how you slice it. so why are people diillusioned by this sort of thing? What real raeson does anybody have to be irritated over the fact that the pixel are really a 12 year old gamer behind a computer ...isn't that what that group of pixels represent?i do not care if the "hottie" is a 12 yr old guy. As long as he can play the game and kills honorably I do not care what he looks, sounds, flatulates like. I do not judge people by thier characters.....However i hear what you are saying about the people that just make noise because they are transmitting. That does get irritating but i have not had to deal wit hit almost at all...
